"SCRAPS of PAPER"
a one-act play featuring the "Nachshon Players"
Scraps of Paper is play about a young boy named Jordan, who is simply going through the motions to study for his Bar Mitzvah. When his Rabbi gives him a box that is filled with scraps of paper, each with the name and story of a child that died in Eastern Europe during World War II and had no chance to have a Bar Mitzvah, Jordan is unimpressed, "Holocaust, Rabbi? It was a long time ago. I know. I get it. World War II. Six million died. Very bad. Blah. Blah. Blah." The Rabbi tells Jordan to find a name in the box to honor. Jordan is sent home with the thought that if he does not find someone to honor and start to take the process seriously, he will not have a Bar Mitzvah at all. But when Jordan gets home, the real "scraps of paper" come to life to give Jordan a Bar Mitzvah lesson that he will never forget.
